The Appraisal Review Board (ARB) was created by the Texas Legislature to provide an independent judicial review of property owner protests of values assessed by appraisal districts.  ARB members are appointed by the Administrative District Judge of Shelby County.  Service on the ARB begins on January 1 of each year and members are appointed to a 2 year term.  Shelby County citizens interested in serving their community as an ARB member can submit a completed application.
